Reality TV star and design guru Nate Berkus married his boyfriend Jeremiah Brent in a historic ceremony on Saturday.
Berkus and Brent, who became engaged in April 2013 during a trip to Peru, became the first same-sex couple to hold their wedding at New York’s iconic Public Library, representatives for the couple have confirmed to People.
Oprah Winfrey, who first introduced the public to Berkus on her former talk show, Busy Philipps and Rachael Ray were among the 220 guests at the ceremony.
Berkus’ previous partner, Fernando Bengoechea, was killed in the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 while the couple were on vacation in Sri Lanka.
