Billy Joel has upset neighbors in Oyster Bay, New York over plans to build stables on his island estate.
The rocker and his wife recently submitted plans to create a 12-horse property on the exclusive Center Island, and a public hearing took place last week (ends14Feb20), according to Newsday.
Local residents raised concerns about reduction in property values and the smell from the stables, among other issues, with one neighbor referring to Joel’s plans as a “stinkpot”.
As a result, locals have demanded an engineering study to review the Joels’ plans and told the Piano Man star he and his wife must keep manure at least 200 feet from property lines.
