A representative for Niall Horan has defended the One Direction star after he taunted fans with a vulgar expletive, insisting the singer was joking.
The boyband pin-up left a crowd of girls stunned after calling them a “shower of c**ts” when he arrived at Dublin Airport in his native Ireland on Monday.
In amateur footage of the scene uploaded to, fans can be seen shouting at Horan and asking him to pose for pictures as he walks through a terminal.
He responds, “Remember the last time I walked down here? You shower of c**ts!”
Horan’s publicist Simon Jones has spoken out in defence of the 18-year-old star, telling the Irish Sun the comment was “clearly a joke”, and the user who originally posted the clip online writes, “We didn’t mob him, he called us showers of c**ts as BANTER.”
