Rock legends Nirvana, singer Linda Ronstadt, and former Genesis star Peter Gabriel are among the acts nominated for inclusion at next year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Organisers have named 16 stars shortlisted for the honor, which includes Hall and Oates, prog-rock veterans Yes, rap collective N.W.A., their fellow hip-hop star LL Cool J, and Cat Stevens.
Ronstadt’s nomination follows her revelation in August that she is suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
More than 600 music industry personnel are due to select the final inductees, who will be announced in December. The induction ceremony for the chosen honorees will be held in New York in April.
