Kanye West will not face felony charges over a fracas in Los Angeles last month when the rapper allegedly confronted a paparazzo and wrestled him to the ground.
The Stronger hitmaker was accused of attacking an unidentified snapper outside Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after spotting the man filming him with a video camera.
The photographer was later treated by airport medics and taken to hospital, but chiefs at the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced on Friday they will not prosecute the hip-hop star.
However, West is not officially in the clear as his case will instead go before the city attorney for possible misdemeanour charges, reports the Associated Press.
The incident wasn’t West’s first altercation with a photographer – he lashed out at snappers in May after accidentally walking into a street sign, and he was charged with three criminal misdemeanours when he smashed a photographer’s camera at LAX in 2009.
