An expletive-laden rant Noel Gallagher recorded for a new Oasis video compilation has turned the rocker into an Internet sensation after his outrageous comments about the band were posted on
Gallagher poked fun at his former group’s video-making efforts as part of the commentary he recorded for the DVD package, insisting that promos were not Oasis’ strong point.
And it takes just seconds for the rocker to turn on his estranged brother Liam and fellow bandmates – as the video for Who Feels Love? begins, he states, “Can we listen to this with the sound down?”
He adds, “If you need four guys to walk around in slow motion… we were the best at that.”
Ten minutes of Gallagher’s anti-Oasis rant has been leaked to and thousands of fans have checked the footage out.
Among the most hilarious moments, Gallagher reveals he was drunk when the band filmed the video for Whatever, adding, “Look how p**sed I am there… I can’t begin to tell you how p**sed I was. I was s**t-faced.
“They’re the clothes I went out in the night before. I remember Liam being furious that day because I think it’s the one time I was more drunk than he was.”
At one point he states, “I’d grown out of the video experience quite quickly. By the third one it was like, ‘This is a load of b**locks, standing around all day doing the same old s**t 500 times’… I hate everything about them. I hate the fact that they cost a fortune. I hate the fact you’ve gotta be there at eight in the morning. I hate the fact that you don’t leave until eight the f**king next morning. I don’t like the fact that the people who are making them think they’re f**king making Apocalypse Now… It’s f**king bollocks. It’s nonsense.”
Gallagher also attacks Live Forever director Carlos Grasso for his surreal concept for the 1991 video, which featured the band burying drummer Tony McCarroll.
The guitarist/singer says, “It seems like this guy was making it up as he f**king went along.”
