Almost Famous star Patrick Fugit has joined the cast of the much-anticipated thirtysomething revamp.
The actor will play Ethan Weston, the son of Patty Wettig and Timothy Busfield’s beloved characters – Nancy and Elliot Weston – in the new TV series, thirtysomething(else).
A musician, Ethan is now a recovering drug addict and an irresponsible new father.
Fugit joins Odette Annable and Chris Wood, who have signed on to play the grown-up kids of Ken Olin and Mel Harris’ characters, Hope and Michael Steadman.
Olin, Harris, Busfield and Wettig will be part of the supporting cast of the new show, which has been created by Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick – the brains behind the original series, which ran from 1987 to 1991.
Filming on the pilot is slated to begin next month (20), according to Deadline.
