Paul McCartney, Emma Stone and Alan Cumming belted out show tunes in a New York bar on Friday, much to the delight of the other guests.
The 28-year-old actress recently worked with Alan on their new movie Battle of the Sexes, the true story of the 1973 tennis match between World number one Billie Jean King and ex-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs, and turned up at the actor’s new bar Club Cumming with King and Beatles legend McCartney in tow.
The 73-year-old tennis champ wasn’t so keen on taking to the stage and sat and watched instead as Emma, Paul and Alan performed The Little Mermaid’s Part of Your World together in front of a small crowd.
“People were really chill about it and didn’t whip out their phones and take pictures but everyone was really excited and surprised,” one of the drinkers in the bar told Us Weekly. “They asked people not to record it, (to) which everyone obliged.”
The lucky onlooker added that the La La Land actress chatted with fans after the show whilst the Hey Jude singer cut some shapes on the dance floor and Alan took to the decks to spins some tunes.
“It was super surreal and bizarre!” the source added.
Alan clearly had fun and took to Instagram to share a picture of the trio up on stage. “Proving the ‘anything can happen’ mantra, last night at @clubcumming,” he wrote.
“I sang ‘Part of Your World’ with Emma Stone and Paul McCartney backed us on harmonica. And that’s Jack Aaronson on piano. Also revelling were Billie Jean King and her wife Ilana and Jake Shears! #clubcumming #yesreally.”
