Sir Paul McCartney’s video shoot for his track Biker Like An Icon was interrupted by Diana, Princess Of Wales – because she wanted a private performance from the Beatles legend.
The singer was recording a promo for the 1993 track at Britain’s famed Pinewood Studios, but the shoot was cut short when his security team was informed of a special visitor.
Princess Diana and her sons, Princes William and Harry, had arrived – and they were keen to meet McCartney and hear him play his famous songs.
The star’s former spokesman Geoff Baker tells Britain’s Daily Express, “We said it was strictly no visitors until we were told, ‘Yeah but it’s Princess Diana’. The Princess entered the set holding the hands of the two princes.
“The royal party went to the stage and Macca asked the boys what they would like to hear him play. They said ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ and so Paul led the band through an impromptu royal command performance.”
McCartney reportedly sang Can’t Buy Me Love, Rave On and I Saw Her Standing There for his royal audience.
