Aerosmith’s plans to record new material are on hold as the band tries to track down guitarist Joe Perry.
Frontman Steven Tyler tells Rolling Stone magazine he’s keen to get back into the studio with his bandmates – but has no idea where his songwriting partner is.

He says, “I’m trying to rally the guys together (but) we’re having trouble getting Joe. I don’t know where he is.”

But Tyler hopes he and Perry can put their recent differences behind them eventually and reunite for a new album.

Perry publicly criticized his singer when Tyler first quit the band in 2009 to check into rehab and then took a job as a judge on TV talent show American Idol last year.

Tyler says, “As far as Joe goes, look, the guy’s got LSD – Lead Strummer Disorder. We’ve been brothers forever. He’s just going through his thing… We just have to get together and put the s**t together. That’s all.”
