British rockers Queen are to receive a lifetime achievement honour at this year’s BMI London Awards.
The Bohemian Rhapsody hitmakers, comprising of late frontman Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, will be named BMI Icons at the annual event, which takes place on 04 October at London’s Dorchester Hotel.

The award by bosses at Broadcast Music, Inc honours those who have had “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers”, and Queen will join previous recipients including Don Black, Van Morrison, the Bee Gees, James Brown and Willie Nelson.
