Rapper Stormzy Leads Nominations For Britain’s MOBO Awards

British rapper Stormzy will lead the way at the 2017 MOBO Awards after landing five nominations.
The Shut Up star is up for Best Male, Best Album for his debut Gang Signs & Prayer, and Best Song and Best Video for Big For Your Boots, but will face tough competition in each of the four categories from fellow MC J Hus.
Hus’ Common Sense is in the running for Best Album, while his tracks Did You See and Spirit have earned him mentions for Best Song and Best Video, respectively.
Meanwhile, Stormzy’s fifth nomination is for Best Grime Act, alongside Skepta, Wiley, Chip, P Money, and AJ Tracey.
Singer Emeli Sande is in the running for the Best Female award, going up against stars like Jessie Ware, Little Simz, Jorja Smith and Stefflon Don, with the latter two also shortlisted for Best Newcomer.
Jorja racks up her third nod for Best R&B/Soul Act, for which she will do battle with Craig David, Sampha, NAO, and
Ray BLK.
The Best Hip Hop Act category features Giggs, Nines, Wretch 32, Stefflon Don, Loyle Carner, and Little Simz, while Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Drake, JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Solange Knowles, SZA, Travis Scott, and Wizkid are all nominated for Best International Act.
The winners of the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards will be unveiled during a ceremony in Leeds, England on 29 November.
