Rosie O’Donnell’s estranged daughter is pregnant.
Chelsea Alliegro confirmed she is expecting her first child with her husband Nick in a new interview with the Daily Mail.
“It’s very exciting and I’m looking forward to it,” the 20-year-old says, insisting her adoptive mom will not be in her child’s life.
“I do not feel sad about that to be honest,” she added.
Chelsea, who is due to give birth in May, 2018, tells the tabloid she will consider her estranged mother’s first wife, Kelli Carpenter, and her mother-in-law as the child’s grandmothers.
The news comes a week after Rosie’s second wife, Michelle Rounds, was found dead at her home in Florida on 11 September. Initial reports suggest she took her own life.
Chelsea opened up about the tragedy to the Daily Mail, revealing Kelli texted her the sad news.
“She told me that Michelle had committed suicide and she wanted me to know before I found out any other way,” the mom-to-be explains. “I was shocked. It was very sad to hear about her death.”
Chelsea and Rosie’s strained relationship has been grabbing the headlines for years – in August, 2015, O’Donnell reported her then-17-year-old daughter missing, revealing she had run away from home.
The teenager was found nearly two weeks later in New Jersey. Soon after turning 18, Chelsea moved in with her birth mother in Wisconsin.
