Prince William and his bride Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge have chosen to delay their honeymoon and spend their first weekend as man and wife in their native U.K.
The couple married in London on Friday in a lavish ceremony which was watched by an estimated two billion people across the globe.

They had been expected to jet off to an exotic location to celebrate their marriage with a relaxing vacation, but they have now confirmed the holiday will be postponed as William is due to return to his job as a search and rescue helicopter pilot next week.

An official statement reads, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen not to depart for a honeymoon immediately. Instead, after spending the weekend privately in the United Kingdom, The Duke will return to work as a search and rescue pilot next week.

“The locations of both their private weekend before The Duke returns to work and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance.

“The couple have asked that their privacy be respected during the coming weekend and during their honeymoon.”

The couple left London by helicopter on Saturday morning as they flew to an undisclosed location to enjoy their weekend away.
