Sarah Jessica Parker has teamed up with bosses at travel service Airbnb to launch shoe-shopping tours in New York City.
The Sex and the City star will host four “unforgettable shoe-shopping experiences”, which will offer fans the chance to visit department store Bloomingdale’s with the actress.
The shoppers will also be gifted a pair of shoes from the actress’ SJP Collection, a frozen yogurt treat at the high-end retailer’s Forty Carrots cafe, and a trip to the ballet.
The listing will be available from Tuesday and the profits will benefit the New York City Ballet, of which Parker is a board member. The shopping experience will take place on 6 October.
“(This tour) speaks to the very colorful identity that is New York,” Parker tells The Associated Press. “We could have gone to MOMA or the Whitney or walked through Chinatown or certainly had a nice walk on the High Line or just strolled the streets of the East Village or Midtown East.”
However, the actress and the bosses at Airbnb opted for a trip to the high-end department store because Sarah Jessica wanted to “be of service” to shoppers as they picked out their shoes.
As for the ballet trip, that was all Parker’s idea. The Sex and the City star considers a trip to the theater “one of the great cultural experiences anybody can have (in New York City).”
Meanwhile, the actress recently opened her second SJP store at the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The new venture offers fans the chance to try on and buy items from Parker’s line of shoes, handbags and accessories.
Sarah’s first store opened last year at the brand new MGM National Harbor in Maryland.
