Adventurous actor Shia Labeouf has confessed to taking acid to prepare for a film role.
The Transformers star recently revealed he had in-depth discussions with eccentric filmmaker Lars Von Trier about having real sex in explicit new film The Nymphomaniac, and he now admits he went to extremes for another new role.
LaBeouf tells USA Today that he took acid on the set of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman in an effort to understand his drug-addled character.
He says, “There’s a way to be on acid. What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to.”
