Freestyle skiing champion Sarah Burke has died after spending nine days in a coma following an accident on the slopes of Park City, Utah.
The Canadian was completing a training run at the Park City Mountain Resort on 10 January when she crashed and landed on her head. The 29 year old was airlifted to a Salt Lake City hospital.

Reports suggest Burke suffered “irreversible damage to her brain due to lack of oxygen and blood after cardiac arrest.”

She was a four-time Winter X Games champion.
