Rockers Slayer are planning to hold a public memorial for fans to pay their respects to guitarist Jeff Hanneman.
The star passed away at the age of 49 on 2 May from alcohol-related cirrhosis, and his bandmates have now announced a tribute service will be staged to celebrate Hanneman’s life later this month.
In a post on their official page, the rockers write, “While the details are being worked out now, Slayer wants its fans to know that there will be a celebration of Jeff Hanneman’s life sometime later this month, along with Jeff’s family and friends, the public will be invited to attend. More information will be posted here soon.”
No venue for the memorial has been confirmed.
