Rapper Snoop Dogg has come to the defense of Willie Nelson following his arrest on suspicion of marijuana possession – insisting officials should leave the country music icon alone and start treating him with “respect”.
The veteran musician was detained by police in Texas last month after Border Patrol officers allegedly found a stash of the drug onboard his tour bus.

The 77 year old admitted the marijuana was his, but avoided a felony charge because the quantity was so small. He is now facing a misdemeanour charge of drug possession and a possible fine.

But rapper Snoop Dogg is adamant cops shouldn’t have busted the 77 year old for the offense and has launched a foul-mouthed rant against the police officers involved in the arrest.

He tells, “They better leave Willie the f**k alone, why are the (sic) f**king with Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson is a legend, man… Sometimes y’all (sic) need to back up off certain people and have a certain amount of respect for your elders. He’s somebody who lived through many decades of the music business, and hard times. Give him that respect.

“Who’s the motherf**ker that arrested him? Who is the police officer that said ‘You are under arrest and have the right to remain silent,’ you dumb motherf**ker you, you stupid motherf**ker you! What you think you are going to gain by arresting Willie Nelson? He got out and he’s back smoking right now… If you got a problem with Willie Nelson, you got a problem with me.”
