South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s quirky musical The Book Of Mormon leads all nominations for this year’s (11) Drama Desk Awards in New York.
The hit show garnered 12 nods, including Outstanding Musical, on Friday.

It will be up against Transit, Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical, See Rock City & Other Destinations, Sister Act and The Kid.

The Broadway revival of Noel Coward’s Anything Goes nabbed 10 nominations, including Outstanding Actor and Actress for Colin Donnell and Sutton Foster.

Donnell faces stiff competition – he will be up against Daniel Radcliffe (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Mark Rylance (Jerusalem) and Oscar winners Al Pacino (The Merchant of Venice) and Geoffrey Rush (The Diary of a Madman).

Robin Williams’ critically-acclaimed Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo and Chris Rock’s The Motherf**ker with The Hat were nominated in the Best New Play category.

The Drama Desk Awards will be presented during a ceremony at the Hammerstein Ballroom on 23 May.
