Tori Spelling was left fearing for her life when she was admitted to hospital last year suffering from swine flu – because doctors initially “misdiagnosed” the illness as meningitis.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star spent 10 days in a Los Angeles hospital in November after suffering severe abdominal pains.

Spelling subsequently kept her diagnosis private, but recently revealed she had been struck down by a bout of swine flu.

And she reveals her first few days in hospital were scary as doctors failed to agree on what was causing her symptoms.

She tells Access Hollywood, “They did misdiagnose it… They thought I had meningitis. That’s what I was first diagnosed at. In the hospital, I had a spinal tap… I kept saying to them, ‘I think it’s the flu!’

“I was on rounds and rounds of antibiotics… I was having breathing problems and I was having sinus problems; I was on a breathing machine in the hospital so it was all this stuff… I was just sick for what it seems like was forever.”
