Coachella got off to a wet start on Friday as acts including The Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys braved heavy rain to open the festival.
The Black Keys brought day one of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California to a close by playing their biggest hits including Howlin’ For You and Next Girl for fans in the downpour.

Meanwhile, Britpop stars Pulp made their Coachella debut and joked that they had teamed up with fellow British rockers Arctic Monkeys to bring bad weather from England.

Frontman Jarvis Cocker quipped, “There was an ugly rumor going around that it was all gray and miserable earlier on because two Sheffield bands were on.”

Hollywood stars including Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Bosworth, David Hasselhoff and Emile Hirsch all turned out to catch this year’s festival, which boasts Radiohead, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Bon Iver, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg on the bill.
