Media mogul Ted Turner is returning to the U.S. after undergoing minor surgery for appendicitis in Argentina.
The CNN founder, 75, was hospitalized in Buenos Aires on Friday, but he has since been discharged and is now in recovery as he heads home.
In a statement released on Monday, he says, “I’m happy to report I’m recuperating well and looking forward to getting back to business as usual.”
Turner also thanked the medical staff who cared for him and family members, colleagues and fans who had all sent their well wishes.
He added, “I can’t thank you enough for lifting my spirits during my ordeal.
“During moments like this I tend to reflect on the past, and while I have dealt with many difficult situations in my lifetime, I am humbled by this experience and will be forever grateful to you all.”
