The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes is still struggling with voice issues after undergoing throat surgery in April, despite reports he’s planning a comeback this month.
The pop star has been forced to sit out the band’s recent press tour to promote their new reality show, The Wanted Life, following the vocal procedure, but, in his first interview since the operation, he admits a number of issues remain, although he is optimistic he will make a full recovery.
He tells E! News his voice is “not really there at the moment” and says, “I’m having a few problems and we’re still trying to work out what’s up with it but hopefully I’ll be better soon.”
Commenting on his croaky voice, he adds, “I’ve never had it like this before. It’s a new experience.”
Despite Sykes’ ongoing recovery, The Wanted’s manager Scooter Braun recently revealed the singer was hoping to be back onstage with the group in time for the Capital Summertime Ball in London, which takes place on Sunday.
