Three concertgoers were hospitalized after a man stabbed them with a knife during the 2014 WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on Thursday.
The incident took place at the Hilltop Campground across the street from the annual country music festival, which featured headliners including Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry and Florida Georgia Line.
Reports suggest drunk Aaron Williams, 32, was walking around the campground, shocking people using a handheld taser when fellow concertgoers confronted him. He took out a knife and began lashing out at them, according to the Becky County Sheriff’s Department.
Three men from Canada who attempted to stop Williams were slashed and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries. They were later released.
Williams was arrested an arraigned in court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to assault charges. He was released on bail and is due back in court for a hearing on 25 August.
The incident wasn’t the only arrest at the festival – three concertgoers were taken into custody for assault, six for DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) charges, five on disorderly conduct charges and 12 people were arrested on warrant charges.
