Justin Timberlake honored his promise to attend a Marine Corps ball with a smitten soldier on Saturday night.
The singer-turned-actor arrived at the Virginia party with Corporal Kelsey de Santis, who invited the star to be her date to the Instructor Battalion bash in a video she posted on YouTube.com in July.

A source at the ball reveals Timberlake, who wore a designer suit and bow-tie for his ‘date’, was on his best behavior and posed for hundreds of pictures with military fans. The insider says, “He appeared to be having a good time.”

Prior to the big night, de Santis joked that she planned to challenge Timberlake to a dance-off at the ball, stating, “I honestly don’t think he’ll be able to keep up with the group of people that I have.”

After hearing of the invite this past summer Timberlake insisted he’d be honored to accompany de Santis to the ball, stating, “I don’t get asked out ever! So I was very flattered by that.”

The singer’s Friends With Benefits co-star Mila Kunis kicked off the trend for members of the military to ask out celebrities this year when Sergeant Scott Moore invited her to an upcoming Marine Corps ball as his date.

Timberlake actually helped persuade the actress to accept the invitation during a TV press conference. Kunis will be the belle of a ball in Greenville, North Carolina on 18 November.
