Embattled British pop star Tulisa Contostavlos has been officially charged following an arrest in June, when she was accused of helping to set up a drugs deal.
The N-Dubz singer was taken into custody with her rapper pal Mike GLC after an undercover reporter from the U.K.’s The Sun on Sunday newspaper allegedly caught her on camera arranging a cocaine sale worth $1,200. Mike GLC stands accused of providing the illegal substance.
The 25 year old has been summoned to appear before a judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London next Thursday.
A statement released on Monday by the Crown Prosecution Service’s London Chief Crown Prosecutor, Baljit Ubhey, reads: “The Crown Prosecution Service has today authorized the Metropolitan Police Service to charge Tulisa Contostavlos, 25, with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
“This charge relates to an investigation by The Sun newspaper between early March 2013 and 23 May 2013, which resulted in the supply of Class A drugs to an investigative journalist.
“We have determined that there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and that a prosecution is in the public interest.”
