TV And Broadway Star Georgia Engel Dead At 70

The Mary Tyler Moore Show star Georgia Engel has died, aged 70.
The beloved TV actress, who portrayed Georgette Franklin Baxter on the hit comedy show, passed away on Friday (12Apr19) in Princeton, New Jersey.
Engel also appeared in TV hits Everybody Loves Raymond, Coach, The Betty White Show, and Hot in Cleveland.
She began her acting career in the late 1960s on Broadway and then landed a role in Milos Forman’s movie Taking Off.
She also originated the role of Mrs. Tottendale in 2006 Broadway hit The Drowsy Chaperone.
Paying tribute to her old pal and former The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Betty White Show castmate on Monday, White said, “Georgia was one of a kind and the absolute best.”
