A man who falsely accused Irish music manager Louis Walsh of indecently assaulting him last year has been jailed for six months.
Unemployed dance teacher Leonard Watters, 24, claimed Walsh, who serves as a judge on Britain’s The X Factor, groped him at Krystle nightclub in Dublin, Ireland following a Westlife concert last April.

The TV star vehemently denied the allegations and the police investigation was dropped after just four days.

During a court appearance last year, Watters pleaded guilty to charges of making false reports to police. He admitted making up the claims and apologised to the music mogul, but his remorse wasn’t enough to save him from jail.

Despite pleas of leniency from Watters’ lawyer, the judge sentenced him to six months behind bars.

A spokeswoman for Walsh says, “Louis is both pleased and relieved with the verdict.”
