Grammy-winning songwriter Diane Warren has paid tribute to slain Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen one year after her death.
The public relations guru was shot dead in Beverly Hills, California on 16 November as she was driving home from a premiere party for Cher’s movie musical Burlesque.

On the first anniversary of her passing, Chasen’s longtime client Warren took to Twitter.com to post a touching remembrance message about her pal.

She writes, “One year ago… my friend and publicist Ronni Chasen was murdered. We will nvr (never) know why and we will nvr forget you. Love you Ronni.

“Thinking of you today Ronni. F**k these laws that put guns in the hands of murderers… RIP”

Harold Smith, who was described as a “person of interest” in the case, shot himself dead as cops approached him in the lobby of the Harvey Apartments in Los Angeles in December.

He had allegedly bragged about murdering Chasen, but her screenwriter brother Larry Cohen insisted cops had the wrong guy.

Detectives closed the investigation into Chasen’s death in July.
