Will Ferrell’s entourage was allegedly ejected from an Australian radio station on Wednesday following a dispute with a presenter over how to pronounce the actor’s name.
The star made an appearance on Sydney’s 2Day FM with Paul Rudd and David Koechner, his co-stars in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, as part of a promotional tour for the new film.
However, the visit turned sour after the interview had concluded when a publicist allegedly began scolding show co-host Jackie O over the way she pronounced Ferrell’s last name.
The heated exchange left the radio presenter in tears, so her co-host Kyle Sandilands stepped in and ordered the entire team out of the building.
He tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, “I got right up into his (the publicist’s) face with that stupid Ned Kelly beard and told him that he and the entire crew had five minutes to vacate the premises because I will not have anyone talking to a member of our team like that. It was absolutely disgusting… You can’t have that kind of s**t going on.”
Sandilands claims his order was obeyed and the entire Anchorman team left the building.
Ferrell has yet to comment on the report.
