Amy Winehouse did not have any illegal drugs in her system at the time of her death, according to toxicology reports.
The Rehab hitmaker sent fans and celebrity pals into mourning when she was found dead at her London home last month, aged 27.

An initial post mortem examination carried out just two days after Winehouse’s passing came back as inconclusive, and an inquest into the tragedy was postponed until October.

Now it’s emerged toxicology tests show there were no illegal drugs present in her body when she died but she had been drinking alcohol, according to a statement from her family.

The statement, released on Tuesday by family spokesman Chris Goodman, reads, “Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.

“Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.”
