Stevie Wonder, John Legend and The Roots are among the stars who will take to the stage this summer for shows honouring soul legend Marvin Gaye.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1971 release of Gaye’s landmark album, What’s Going On, and a number of events have been planned to celebrate.

Legend and The Roots will re-create Gaye’s songs backed by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on 3 and 4 May in honor of the late singer’s performance at the same venue on 1 May 1972.

Wonder will also mark the anniversary by staging a What’s Going On tribute concert in California in July. The show, which will feature performances from Rickey Minor and Janelle Monae, will take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on 24 July.
