Actor Woody Harrelson is nursing a bruised ego following a biking accident outside the New York City theatre where his Broadway production Bullet For Adolf is showing.
The Hunger Games star was racing his assistant to the New World Stages theatre on Wednesday evening, when he swerved to avoid colliding with pedestrians and hit a tree.
He recalls, “I’m shooting down 49th street, the theatre is right there, New World Stages, and I was ahead of him, but I didn’t want to look back, and (at) the last minute I decided I’d just jump the curb and come up right to the theatre door. And then I saw, ‘Well, there’s people there.’ And I’m going at it quick… so the bike hits the curb and stops, and I keep going.
“I went right into this tree, which was kind of conveniently placed, and just bear-hugged around the tree at probably 20 miles-an-hour. And people were standing all around like, ‘You OK?’ And I’m just embarrassed, I’m like, ‘I’m fine, I’m fine.'”
