Hip-hop star Yg has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following a police raid on his Los Angeles home.
The Big Bank hitmaker, real name Keenon Jackson, was given a rude awakening early on Friday (24Jan20) when L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies turned up on the doorstep of his San Fernando Valley property and presented him with a warrant for his arrest, as well as court permission for officers to search the pad.
Further details regarding the warrants have yet to be revealed, but the rapper, who was at home at the time of the raid, was taken into custody and booked for robbery, according to TMZ.
The news emerges six months after a Cadillac Escalade registered to the 29 year old was used in a high-speed police chase and shooting in Los Angeles, leaving a 65-year-old man dead.
At the time, YG distanced himself from the incident, insisting he had been holed up in a Hollywood recording studio while the crime was being committed. The case is still under investigation.
Representatives for the rapper have yet to comment on his arrest, which comes just two days before he is due to take part in a tribute performance honoring late pal Nipsey Hussle at the Grammy Awards.
