Foo Fighters Sue Over Aussie Ad

The Foo Fighters have filed suit against executives at an Australian advertising agency over allegations they used one of the band’s songs without permission.
The rock group, fronted by Dave Grohl, is suing bosses at Brisbane-based firm RE/MAX Australia over claims they used a portion of their hit 1999 single Learn To Fly in a television promo.

Prince to be honoured at BET Awards

The purple king of pop Prince is to be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the BET prize giving this month, earning him a place alongside previous honorees James Brown, Whitney Houston and Diana Ross.
Prince’s prize coincides with with teh 10th anniversary of the BET Awards, which will take place in Los Angeles on 27 June.

Coldplay Apologize For Glee Snub

British rockers Coldplay have issued an apology to the makers of Glee for turning down a request to use their music on the program – and they have backtracked by giving producers access to their full catalogue.
Creator Ryan Murphy asked the Yellow hitmakers if he could showcase their songs for a special episode, but the band turned him down.

Weezer Record Unofficial U.S.A. World Cup Anthem

Weezer will cheer on the U.S.A. soccer team at Saturday’s Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee by debuting frontman Rivers Cuomo’s unofficial new anthem.
Disappointed that no one has recorded an official Team U.S.A. theme tune in the run up to his nation’s opening World Cup game against England on Saturday, the Beverly Hills singer decided to write his own song.

Slash Attacked Onstage In Italy

Rocker SLASH has laughed off a stage invasion during a concert in Milan, Italy on Thursday night , insisting he’s fine but his guitar was broken in the fracas.
